The Upper Fire-Hole, viewed from the direction of the 'Old Faithful' geyser, Yellowstone National Park. In March 1872 President Grant made Yellowstone a National Park, '...for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.' This engraving was made using a photograph taken by Mr. Serjeant Sleigh during the first survey of the National Park.
