Details

The process of making Valentine's cards which were popularlised in the Victorian period, largely due to advances in industrial printing which made them affordable. These cards are particularly high end, involving lacing, silver and gold. The workforce is of mixed gender although it appears that the stage of "making up the valentines" from their constituent parts was a primarily female task.
