Details

An avenue in the West of Madrid after bombardment by the Nationalist airforce and artillery, November 1936. A barricade made of cobbles and bricks can be seen on the right of the photograph. Starting in 1936, Republican-held Madrid endured a three-year siege by the Nationalist forces.
