Greek wedding ceremony between Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh and the Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovna of Russia in the Imperial Chapel of the Winter Palce in St. Petersburg on January 23rd 1874. The Greek ceremony was followed by an English one in the Alexander Hall of the Winter Palace shortly afterwards. Queen Victoria did not attend the wedding but the Prince of Wales and Prince Arthur of Connaught were present.
