Culinary science applied to the whale: the menu and recipes at a steak whale luncheon given by the American Museum of Natural History on 8th February 1918, in the interests of wartime food conservation. W. P Pycraft, the eminent zoologist, wrote in the accompanying article to these images that the meal proved an immense success.
