Details

Previously unpublished images of the scenes of destruction at Amritsar, which led to tensions and the eventual massacre in April 1919 when General Dyer ordered British troops to fire on an unarmed crowd of demonstrators. Photographs show the National Bank Building where two European officials were murdered.
