Description | What Piccadilly Circus looks like in the early morning |
Details |
A typical early morning scene in Piccadilly Circus, showing a a smart gentleman in a hansom, heading westward towards Piccadilly, perhaps from a club (the caption suggests the Garrick, the Lyric or the Eccentric Club). As he bends his top hatted head to light a cigarette, a vestry employee can be seen washing the street with the Shaftesbury fountain (Eros) and Pavilion Music Hall faces the Criterion restaurant. Going the other way are cabbage-laden drays trudging from the country to Covent Garden Market.
