The wealthy American-born British philanthropist, John Paul Getty, Jr. (7 September 1932 – 17 April 2003) with the style icon of the late 1960s, Talitha Pol (18 October 1940 – 14 July 1971). The couple, who became part of "Swinging" London's fashionable scene, got married in December 1966 in Rome, the same place where Talitha met her death from a heroin overdose.
