Wilfred Edward Salter Owen MC (18 March 1893 – 4 November 1918), English poet and soldier, one of the leading poets of the First World War. Photograph of him in uniform as a 2nd Lieutenant with the Manchester Regiment. He was killed in action near the Sambre Canal on 4 November 1918, a week before the ceasing of hostilities.
