Page from The Sphere reporting on women beginning to hold positions in the legal world in 1920. Top photographs show Mrs. G. M. Thomson (Miss Bebb), who was accepted as a law student at Lincoln's Inn, Miss Maud Ingram, an articled clerk of an eminent firm of solicitors and Miss Helena Normanton, a student of the Middle Temple who applied within twenty-four hours of the passing of the Sex Disqualification Removal Bill Middle picture shows Mrs Summers of Stalybridge as Chief Magistrate and also Mayoress of Stalybridge. Bottom row shows prominent women who held positions as Justice of the Peace - Mrs Humphrey Ward, Mrs Lloyd George and Miss Elizabeth Haldane.
