Owing to the shorage of male labour, the London County Council established a Women's ambulance service, quailfied in first aid and competent motor drivers. Top photograph: shows some of the Corps, with the ambulance, outside a garage. Bottom photograph: members of the Corps finding the location of a call by means of the London County Council sectional map and directory.
