Description WW1 - Comment on the food shortage
Details

WW1 - To ensure food supply during shortages, National and local food control committees were established to ensure food distribution across the country. The illustration here depicts a queue of middle/upper class 'conscientious disgorgers', who appear to be patriotically contributing food supplies to the control in order to evade prosecution.
