WW1 - An illustration representing the French reclaiming Alsace from German occupation. The illustration recreates the scene by using the well-known fairytale 'Sleeping Beauty', to represent the event. Alsace is depicted as Sleeping Beauty, the French soldier battles through the thorned walls to battle down the enemy, the German soldier. The French soldier battles his way through to rescue and break the 'spell' cast over Alsace.
