Engraving showing the building built for 'Wyld's Great Globe' in the early 1850's. This building housed a 10,000 sq. foot painting of planet Earth. During the Crimean War, the positions of the fighting forces of Britain, France, Turkey and Russia were posted onto the painting, as the latest news arrived in London.
