The steam yacht, Lancashire Witch. Built in 1878 for Sir Thomas Hesketh, it was later owned by the explorer Frank Linsly James, who was killed by a wounded elephant in West Africa in April 1890.
The Lancashire Witch was purchased by the Royal Navy for survey work and renamed HMS Waterwitch in 1893. The ship was lost following a collision in Singapore Harbour in 1912
