Dr K.I. Danielewsky’s ‘Directible Flying Machine’. During 1897-1898 Danielewsky - based in Charkow [Kharkow], Russia - conducted a series of flight trials of his design whereby a pilot could manipulate the incidence and direction of an airship through a system of levers and man-powered wings.
