Collection of the week: The Pete Frost Collection
Pete Frost has collected a dynamic range of photographs of Britain in the first half of the 20th century which Mary Evans is pleased to offer for licensing. A wide variety of subjects is covered, including suffragettes at Downing Street; the National Railway Strike of 1911; the wreck of the first British rigid airship, the Mayfly; and the run on the National Penny Bank in East London at the start of World War One. There's also Jack Johnson, heavyweight boxing champion between 1908 and 1915, arriving at Bow Street Magistrates' Court to fight an injunction, and some great images of coronation street parties in Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, in 1953.

You can view some of the best images here and if you can't find what you're looking for, please get in touch, either by email at pictures@maryevans.com or by telephone on 020 8318 0034.
