British paratrouper from 95th Para - involved in the first stage of Operation Overlord, the D-day invasion of France on June 6th 1944. Paratroupers parachuted behind the German lines and cleared the way for the seaborne invasion which followed by cutting off lines of communication and disrupting logistic supply to the coast
