Anti-Pass Campaign - On August 9, 20 000 women of all races, some with the babies on their backs, from the cities and towns, from the reserves and villages, took a petition addressed to the Prime Minister to the Union Buildings in Pretoria. He was not in. The petition demanded of Strydom that the passs laws be abolished. Lilian Ngoyi, Helen Joseph, Sophie Williams and Radima Moosa - the delegates to deliver the petition to the office of the Prime Ministers in front of the Union Buildings
