Hungarian Jewish women selected to work in Auschwitz-Birkenau. Between May 2 and July 9, 1944 more than 430, 000 Hungarian Jews were deported to Auschwitz, Poland. Their heads have been shaved to control the lice that spreads typhus. The woman on the left is an auxiliary guard who assists the SS. Date: June 1, 1944
