Penig Concentration Camp A Jewish woman from Hungary at Penig, a sub-camp of Buchenwald. The 12th SS guards evacuated all those prisoners who could still walk upon the approach of the 6th U.S. Armored Division, leaving behind those too ill to move. Women in the camp suffered from starvation, typhus, diphtheria, and tuberculosis. Germany. Date: April 1945
