Some of the mixed race children featured are Vera Graham, b.1925 (front row, on the right, with hat); Edgar Graham, b.1922 (next to Vera); Violet Graham, b. 1924 (next to Edgar); Sidney Graham, b.1920 (second row, third from right). Crown Street was known locally as Draughtboard Alley to reflect the diversity of the families living there
