Stained glass window, Chateau de Fontainebleau
Lower section of stained glass window L'Artiste with initials LN for Louis Napoleon, by Charles-Laurent Marechal, 1081-87, master glazier, in the central bay of the Antechamber to the Galerie des Fastes, Chateau de Fontainebleau, France. The window was made in Metz and bought by Napoleon III at the Universal Exhibition of 1867. The Palace of Fontainebleau is one of the largest French royal palaces and was begun in the early 16th century for Francois I. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.
