August 1968. When Alexander Dubcek, Zdenek Mlynar
August 1968. When Alexander Dubcek, Zdenek Mlynar, Josef Smrkovsky and Cestmir Cisar establish the Socialism With Human Face during Prague Spring, freedom of press, end of censorship and hope prevailed. However, Moscow hardliners under the leadership of Leonid Breznev decide to invade Czechoslovakia without warning. On August 21st 1968 the entire Warsaw Pact, with the exception of Romania, engulfs this land with tanks, armored vehicles and half a million heavily armed soldiors. All major cities are patrolled by machine gun wielding Red Army servicemen. Despair, confusion and sense of betrayal follows. The entire nation protests the invasion and the Soviet Union, the ally since the liberation in May 1945, is suddenly the target of hate
