Ervenice - Dul Hedvika - F.D. Roosevelt - Thomas
Ervenice 1947. Brown coal surface mine Hedvika was renamed after Francis Delano Roosevelt. Foreign Minster Jan Masaryk and US vice Consul Thomas Donover are present during the ceremony. Town of Ervenice was later erased from maps and its citizens were relocated when more coal was discovered. Jan Masaryk died inexplicably On March 10th 1948, by falling out of his office window. The official version of his death was suicide, however, its has been widely believed that he was murdered by NKVD agents. CTK Vintage Photo
