Franzensbad - memorial to US soldiers
Franzensbad 1947. Foreign Minister Jan Masaryk and US Ambassador Laurance A. Steinhardt during unveiling of memorial to American servicemen who died during the liberation of Western Bohemia. In Communist years the history changed and statues of Red Army soldiers replaced American plaques and memorials. This lie did not go along with Czech citizens who remembered the events.
