Ice collection on Vltava River
Prague, Czechoslovakia 1947. While refrigirators were scrace in post war Czechoslovakia, big pieces of ice are collected from Vltava River in the spring and brought to restaurants and home basements to cool perishable goods. Ice blocks were covered by hay for insulation. CTK Vintage Photo
