Iron plant
Czechoslovakia, Kladno 1947. Kladno iron factory which was confiscated from the original owners in so called Benes Decrees was renamed Marshal Konev Iron Plant to commemorate the liberation of Prague by Marshal Ivan Stepanovich Konev and the Red Army. However, Prague was liberated by renegade commander General Andrej Andrejevich Vlasov and his Russian Liberation Army, a fact long denied by Czechs and Communist historians. After the liberation Vlasov and his men went west to surrender to Allied forces but were turned over to the Soviets. Vlasov was executed in Moscow and many of his soldies were shot on the spot by Red Army and some perished in Gulag camps. CTK Vintage Photo
