Prague 1949. President Klement Gottwald, in army uniform, signs military documents regarding reorganization. Rudolf Slansky and Army General Ludvik Svoboda witness the signature. Rudolf Slansky was later arrested and tried on trumped up charges in an antisemitic trial against high profile politicians. He was sentenced to death and was executed in 1952. CTK Vintage Photo
