Paul Robeson
Prague May 28th 1949. American singer, actor and human rights advocate Paul Robeson visits facory workers in Prague who happily carry him. Robeson visited the Soviet Union and commented his visit : For the first time in my life I can live in full human dignity. This comment was beneficial for the USSR but was a thorn in the eye of the US. In 1950 the US Foreign Ministry took away Paul Robesons passport due to his defiance to sign a document proclaiming that he was not a Communist. CTK Vintage Photo
