Paul Robeson
Prague May 28th 1949. American singer, actor and human rights advocate Paul Robeson visits Tesla facory workers in Prague. Robeson visited the Soviet Union and commented his visit : For the first time in my life I can live in full human dignity. This comment was beneficial for the USSR but was a thorn in the eye of the US. In 1950 the US Foreign Ministry took away Paul Robesons passport due to his defiance to sign a document proclaiming that he was not a Communist. CTK Vintage Photo
