President Klement Gottwald
Czechoslovakia. After Communist putsch in February 1948, Klement Gottwald becomes the Prime Minister and on June 14th 1948 he becomes President of Czechoslovakia. On this photo Gottwald is congatulated by other memebrs of the government Josef Plojhar, Zdenek Nejedly and Vlado Clementis. Clementis was tried for treason just two and a half years after and was executed in 1953 CTK Vintage Photo
