Residential college under Palacky Hill, construction
AUGUST 19, 1970 - Soviet students help build a university dormitory in Brno. A 46-member group of Soviet students from Moscow and Kiev is working on the construction of a new university dormitory and canteen under Palacky Hill in Brno Kralova Pole, together with employees of the Brno Civil Engineering Works and students of the Brno University of Technology. The construction of a new dormitory in Brno partly solves the crisis situation in the accommodation of students of the Technical University. The complex of four buildings and a canteen, which will cost about 45 million CZK, will provide a total of 2, 300 beds for the students of the Technical University of Technology. Jan Nykl, chief construction manager of the BUT dormitory under Palacky vrch, said he was very satisfied with the work of the Soviet students. Their work discipline is exemplary.
