Slovakia - Topolcianky - Edvard Benes - Geman shepard

Czechoslovakia 1947. President Edvard Benes in his summer retreat of Topolcianky in Slovakia accompanied by his German shepard. The worried and depressed expression in his face is evident and justifiable. Only few months later he was deposed by Klement Gottwald during Communist putsh. The communist system lasted for over 40 years and fell together with the rest of such systems in the entire Eastern Europe thanks to politicians like Michail Gorbatchev, Ronald Reagan and Vaclav Havel.
