Sudetenland - deportation of Germans

Czechoslovakia - Dvory near Carlsbad 1946. Ethnic Germans who had resided in Bohemian and Moravian border areas known as Sudetenland for centuries are forcibly removed and repatriated with Germany. This act wchich was part of so called Benes Decrees left over 3 000 000 Germans helpless. Their farms, land, homes, farm animals and personal property was confiscated by Czechoslovak government. Their forced relocation was reminscent of Jewsish transports on the way to concentration camps. CTK Vintage Photo
