Czechoslovakia - Prague, October 28th 1949. President Klemnet Gottwald signs the first five year plan into law. Modeled according to Soviet Union, this economic plan proved to be ineffective and could not compete with democratic economies to the west. Witnessed by Oldrich John, Antonin Zapotocky and other government members. This photograph was tempered with and all the others on the photo except Gottwald were cut out by Communist controlled press. CTK Vintage Photo
