WWII - Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia - Prague

WWII, May 6 to May 8, 1945. Prague was liberated by General Andrej Andrejevic Vlasov and his Russian Liberation Army, fact long denied by Communist historians. Vlasov, a renegade commander fought along Germans against the Soviet Union. After he and his soldiers went west to surrender to Allied forces, Vlasov and many others were returned to Soviets. Vlasov with 11 others were executed for treason in Moscow in 1946. The Red Army took credit for liberating Prague.Photo: Soviet soldiers rest in Prague
