2nd of June in 1967: Shah riots and shots on Benno Ohnesorg

Benno Ohnesorg is surrounded by helpers of the Red Cross at his admission to hospital, where he died shortly thereafter (archive picture from the 2nd of June in 1967). The 26 year old student was shot by a police man during the anti-Shah demonstration in Berlin, where incidents between demonstrants and police occured. His death set off a, until then unknown, wave of street demonstration. Universities were brought to a standstill for weeks through Sit-ins, Go-ins and squatting institutional buildings
