US air ambulance fired at by Soviets is back in Frankfurt am
An air ambulance of the US air force after its landing at the Airport in Frankfurt am Main on the 8th of October in 1952. The aircraft was attacked and fired at by Soviet fighters. The pilots could escape from further attacks by courageously flying into the clouds and could land the aircraft securely and undamaged in Berlin, before returning to Frankfurt. The three-headed crew with medical staff stand in front of the aircraft, who accompanied and cared for ill soldiers on the way to Frankfurt
