US air ambulance fired at by Soviets landed in Berlin-Tempel
An air ambulance of the US air force after its landing at the Airport Tempelhof in Berlin on the 8th of October in 1952. The aircraft was attacked and fired at by Soviet fighters. The pilots could escape from further attacks by courageously flying into the clouds and could land the aircraft securely and undamaged in Berlin. In front of the aircraft stand pilot Major George Beere (l) and Captain P. Peterson (r)
