Andreas Baron von Mirbach - Victim of hostage drama in Stock
Undated portrait of military attache Lieutenant Colonel Andreas Baron von Mirbach. German terrorists raided the German embassy, shot military attache Andreas von Mirbach and took twelve members of the embassy as hostages to force the liberation of 26 members of the Baader-Meinhof group. Since the demand was not fulfilled, they furthermore shot economic expert Heinz Hillegaard and explosive charges detonated. All terrorists were arrested, amongst them Karl Heinz Dellwo, Lutz Taufer, Bernhard Roessner and Hanna Krabbe, who received twice lifelong imprisonment in Dusseldorf in 1977
