Soldiers of the US army in front of the plinth of the Soviet tank monument in Berlin-Zehlendorf on 5 May 1955. The soldiers guarded the plinth of the controversial monument until it was broken up and torn down shortly afterwards. The monument was moved close to the border crossing-point Dreilinden
