British airplane shot down by Soviets
The map gives a view of the place of a plane incident near Lauenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, not far away from the zone border on 12 March 1953. A military plane with Berlin as the destination was shot down by Soviet MIG fighters in the Hamburg-Berlin air corridor close to the border to the Soviet sector. Wreckage fell partially on the area of the Soviet sector near the border. Seven crew members were killed
