Colmar Freiherr von der Goltz
Prussian General field marshal and one of the most important military writers of his time in a contemporary picture. He re-organised the Turkish army from 1883 to 1896 and was in Prussian duty again from 1898 on. He ended British influence in Mesopotamia as commander of the 6th Turkish army by conquering Kut-el-Amara in 1916. Colmar Freiherr von der Goltz was born on the 12th of August in 1843 in Bielkenfeld near Labiau and died on the 19th of April in 1916 in Bagdad
