US convoy passes Allied border crossing point Helmstedt
A convoy of the US army passes the Allied border crossing point Helmstedt on the 11th of October in 1963. Convoys of the US army on their way from the Federal Republic of Germany to West Berlin or coming from West Berlin were held back for longer time by the Soviet troops at the GDR border crossing points Marienborn and Babelsberg. The interzonal motorway was blocked completely most of the time
