Crew sinks naval warship Admiral Spee in 1939
Naval warship Graf Spee, destroyed by its crew, in the mouth of River La Plata (near Montevideo, Uruguay). The ship was seriously damaged in a sea battle with British troops and was about to be repaired in the harbour of Montevideo (Uruguay). There was only little time given by the government and success was in doubt. Captain Langsdorff gave the order to sink the ship on the 17th of December in 1939
