Currency reform in Germany 1948
After the currency reform in the western part of Germany came into force on 21 June 1948 East Germany reformed their currency on 23 June 1948 but it took until the end of July before the people received the new money.Two Eastern marks (Ostmark) than were traded for one Deutsche Mark (Westmark)
