Cut of the spade for Hawaii copy in Berlin
On 17 April 1972, U.S. generals and politicians of Berlin carry out the ceremonial first cut of the spade for the copy of the Waikiki beach of the American holiday island Hawaii. From 28 July to 13 August 1972, a copy of the famous beach is built in Berlin in the context of a German-American folk festival. One can see in this picture (from left to right): Brigadier Reimund Millers, senator Kurt Neubauer, general William W. Cobb and mayor Dr. Rothkegel
