View of the damaged windows in the House of Broadcasting in Berlin on the 24th of June in 1956, shortly before the handover by the Soviets to the senat of Berlin. In front of the building are two signs, which point to the radio stations SFB and RIAS of West Berlin. Although it was located in the British sector of Berlin, the House of Broadcasting was used by the Broadcast of Berlin and controlled by the Soviets after World War II until 1952. After a temporary blocking by the British Army, the building was given to the Senate of Berlin only in July 1956, who handed it over to the broadcaster Freies Berlin ('Free Berlin') after extensive renovation works
