De-Nazification: Winifred Wagner
Winifred Wagner (l) next to her defending lawyer Dr. Fritz Meyer during the reading of the charge before the de-Nazification court II in Bayreuth on 25 June 1947. Winifried Wagner is the wife of Richard Wagner's son Siegfried and mother of Wieland, Wolfgang, Verena, and Friedelind Wagner. Being a NSDAP member and her friendship to Adolf Hitler lead to a sentence as Belastete ('incriminated person') by the Bayreuth de-Nazification court II in 1947. In a second instance she was declared as Minderbelastete ('less incriminated') in 1948 because she could prove that she saved many persons from concentration camp
